Hello and welcome back to my weekly thoughts!
Today I want to talk about pain, and what it can mean to a person.
I think most of us are familiar with pain, physically, mentally, emotionally, everyone's felt pain in many different ways throughout their life, and it's important to know what to do with that feeling when it comes around.
The natural reaction is to reject it, but all feelings are valid and attempting to disown them usually doesn't do well for anyone involved.
I once read a book that explained how giving a meaning to your pain can make it much more bearable, like "if I can just get to etc....it'll be worth it", I think this works for a lot of people for a lot of different severities of pain, a very useful tool indeed.
Something else you can do is sit with your pain for some time, let it pass through you and truly understand where the feeling is coming from, this understanding of the pain can be comforting, maybe it won't make you feel better on it's own, but a lot of the time it gets you heading down the right path.
Never discount the helpfulness of companionship either, if you have someone to talk to about your problems they become a lot clearer and easier to deal with, even if the person you're talking to doesn't have a solution, sometimes it's just nice to have someone listen!
And if you don't have that person to talk to, try writing down your problems and talking them out with yourself, this isn't quite as comforting but it's definitely better than nothing, and you'll probably learn something that wasn't obvious before.
Well that's all I wanted to say today, hopefully you're having a good day, and if you aren't I hope you can return to a peaceful state of mind soon!
As always, thanks for reading, and have a wonderful week! :)
Well said. You are so right, sharing the pain with another halves it.
