Hello and welcome back to my weekly thoughts!
Today I want to talk about the conclusion of summer and the start of fall!
Oh boy, it feels like summer is finally actually ending and fall is upon us.
Whenever I envision summer in my head it always seems like a happy time, but I must admit, the happiest part about it for me in recent years has been seeing it go.
Don't get me wrong, the sun is nice, and it's a pleasant vibe if you have any outdoor activities to do, but that just isn't me.
Summer just makes most of my personal favourite activities more unpleasant.
I don't like being hot, and I'm much more used to rain and cloudy days as a Washingtonian, so I'm glad that we're moving on in the year.
Bashing summer aside, I'm really excited for fall, it's the time of the year when more holidays start coming around, and similar to summer, it has a very nice vibe.
It's not too cold like winter can be, but instead cozy and fun, it can be sad to see rainy skies and dead trees all day sometimes, however, no season is perfect.
I look forward to more rain and finally actually needing my blanket at night.
All that being said, it might just be nostalgia getting the best of me, I always find myself highly anticipating the next season just to be let down when it arrives, realizing that what drew me to the idea in the first place was memories of last year, a time layered in wistfulness and disconnected from me completely now.
But I'd like to stay optimistic! Rain is my comfort weather, and I think this season will genuinely be enjoyable!
Thanks for reading and have a beautiful week! :)
I agree about a rainy day. A nice day in the high 50's with a light rain is a good day.
