Showtime Nerves

Hello and welcome back to my weekly blog posts!
Today I wanted to talk about something that is too familiar to me at this point.
I am quite a nervous person, sometimes even when there is nothing to worry about, but performing in front of a crowd of people is definitely something to get your nerves on edge.
I enjoy doing live performances of various types, so far I've done theatre and piano recitals, so I often run into incredible anxiety the day of the show, all the way up until I'm actually performing.
Today I'm going to be doing an improv murder mystery show, and I'm gonna be honest, my part is really simple and it's going to be hard to mess it up, but that won't stop me from worrying about it.
Unfortunately, the worst of it isn't just the worrying, when I'm stressed my stomach tends to get a lot weaker, and it's not uncommon for me to throw up.
There sadly was no exception today, I was watching something a little gross and it combined with my pre-show nerves into instant vomit.
At this point, whenever I feel the vomit coming I've already resigned myself to my fate, but it becomes a real problem when I then have to perform a challenging task after losing my breakfast.
I've had to get accustomed to working on an empty stomach and a sore throat because of this problem I face, it's far from impossible but it makes things much more unpleasant than they need to be.
Someday I will have to learn to control my belly, but apparently that wasn't today!
That's all I have today, thank you for reading and have a great day! :)
Butterflies, before standing up before a bunch of people, and potentially making a fool of yourself is pretty normal. It only gets better by doing it a lot. So good on you for pushing yourself.
